I've been photographing for more than 40 years. As well as excepting commercial assignments, I focus on my art. I have received two National Endowment Awards for my work. During the "filmage" I shot mostly with an 8x10 camera and specialized in 19th century photographic process; Platinum and Palladium printing and Gum Bichromate printing. I was an instructor with the Zone 6 Photographic workshops; Professor of photography at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington DC teaching Zone System theory, Master Printing and 19th century processes; Director of the "Arts in Schools Project" for the Vermont Council on the Arts. Most recent activities include Staff photographer for the GliGli Canoe project, May, 2007 (http://www.avirtualdominica.com/gligli/index.html ) and living with the Carib Indians on the Caribbean Island of Dominica photo-documenting the people and life style of these hardy and friendly people.
